Your Brand, Protected on Every Roast
When you hand your product to a co-manufacturer, you're trusting their quality system as much as your own. Cascade is built for that. Our food safety and quality program is documented, independently audited, and consistent year over year, and the results are on the record.
At a glance:
SQF Excellent, eight years running
Up to 20 data points traced on every roast
Certified, staffed, and audit-ready

A Food-Safety Record You Can Count On
SQF is a GFSI-recognized food safety certification, the standard many national brands and retailers require before they'll approve a supplier. Cascade has held it for eleven years, and has scored in the Excellent range, 96 or above, every year since 2019.

How We Control & Document Quality
Quality at Cascade is tracked through the whole run. We test, validate, document, and trace up to 20 data points on every roast, and all of it is captured in our Quality Windows database. Standard lab testing runs on every finished product against both industry specifications and your own. Our Technical Services team supports your brand with documentation across the entire process.
Our in-house lab work includes
Oxygen level testing
ROTAP and Malvern grind analysis
Water activity testing
Pressure decay testing
Agtron color analysis
Sensory analysis
Bell jar/Meade tank testing
Moisture analysis
What this means for you
You can trace any run from green coffee to finished product
Your audits arrive with the documentation already in hand
Your customers get the same coffee every time
Our quality and safety programs include Nexcor Kleanz sanitation, GMP compliance, a customer complaints program, trace recall and product identification, chemical clearance, pest control, partner training programs, food defense and food fraud methods, and HACCP.
Certified & Staffed to Stay That Way
Cascade holds the certifications the industry runs on, including SQF, HACCP, GMP, PCQI-qualified staff, and low-acid canned foods authority. We also maintain one of the highest certification and accreditation rates in our workforce, from SQF practitioners and PCQI leads to certified Q graders and green coffee graders, so the standard on paper is the standard on the floor.

A coffee co-packer keeps products traceable by recording every input and process step, so any finished product can be traced back to its green coffee, ingredients, and packaging, and forward to where it shipped. At Cascade, we test, validate, document, and trace up to 20 data points on every roast and capture all quality data in our Quality Windows database. Our trace and recall program ties each product to its production records, and our Technical Services team provides brands with documentation through the entire process.
SQF audits are scored out of 100, and a score of 96 to 100 earns a rating of Excellent, the highest rating SQF gives. Scores of 86 to 95 rate Good, 70 to 85 rate Complies, and anything below 70 fails. SQF is recognized by the Global Food Safety Initiative, and many retailers and national brands require it from their co-packers. Cascade has scored in the Excellent range every year since 2019, most recently a 97, and has averaged 97 since 2020.
Cascade has held SQF certification for 11 years and has earned a rating of Excellent for eight straight years, most recently a 97 out of 100. That record comes from a documented system run by our Technical Services team, with HACCP, GMP, food defense, food fraud, and trace and recall programs, PCQI-qualified staff, and lab testing on every finished product. It also comes from the people on the floor, since Cascade trains and certifies employees across every role through our Alchemy Learning Platform and certification programs. The goal on every run is to meet each customer's technical specifications.
At minimum, look for a GFSI-recognized food safety certification such as SQF, along with HACCP and GMP programs and staff qualified as Preventive Controls Qualified Individuals (PCQI) under FSMA. Ask for the co-packer's recent audit scores as well as the certificate itself, and ask how they handle traceability, recalls, food defense, and food fraud. If your product carries claims such as organic or Fair Trade, confirm the co-packer can source and document them. Cascade is SQF certified with a rating of Excellent every year since 2019, runs HACCP, GMP, trace and recall, food defense, and food fraud programs, has PCQI-qualified staff, and sources organic and Fair Trade Certified coffee.
